Hey lovelies! Happy new years!
Can you believe that 2018 is here, I’m so ready for it! The past year has flown by so fast! There’s been so many amazing launches from big brands this year. I’ve found a lot of new products I’ve fallen in love with. It’s been a fun year of experimenting with colour, testing out new products and building up my skills! I thought I’d share my 2017 makeup favourites that I haven’t been without. I’ve kind of divided this post in two halves, affordable drugstore products and high end favourites! Grab a cuppa and a snack, this is gonna be a long one.
Sleek solstice palette: A true drugstore gem, this highlight palette has had a lot of use over the last year when I fancy a blinding glow. When layering the cream and powder highlights the glow is insane!
Revolution bake & finish powder: As the name suggests, perfect for baking and setting makeup. Pretty new one for me but I already love it.
L’Oreal true match foundation (Ivory): A good dupe for my favourite high end foundation. Medium-full coverage, buildable and a huge selection of shades to match almost everyone!
Revolution X Soph eyeshadow palette: I’ve used this so much since it launched. There’s such a good variety of shades to create endless looks. I swatched and reviewed the palette so if you want to read more CLICK HERE.
Soap and glory supercat liquid liner: Another fairly new product to me but still a favourite. seamlessly create a super intense black liner, great for doing a sharp wing!
Maybelline age rewind concealer: Really creamy concealer that doesn’t crease under my eyes and has decent enough coverage to conceal those nasty imperfections.
Makeup obsession glitter brushes: I love this brush for powdering or bronzing the perimeters of my face. Comes as part of a set but this brush is one I use all the time. You can read the full review of the set HERE.
Collection lasting perfection concealer (fair1): Everyone swears by this concealer and I totally get the hype. Works really well for brightening under the eyes, doesn’t crease and blends out like a dream!

That’s just a few of my favourites from the drugstore this year. lets move on to some high end products shall we?
HIGH END FAVOURITES:
Benefit Hoola : This is my perfect bronzer, it isn’t to warm which I like and it works great for contouring and bronzing on my skin tone. Completely matte too, so you don’t get a sparkly face.
MAC Studio fix fluid: Favourite foundation of all time, ever! I’ve used this for years and I’m still to find something that works as good. Medium – full coverage and like the true match, there’s a mass of shades to suit everyone!
Benefit tinted lash primer: I love the entire “They’re real” range but I recently discovered this and I love it to prep my lashes before a coat of they’re real mascara. Works on its own for something a little more natural and soft.
Joan Collins skin perfecting powder: Super nice powder for all over the face. Really finely milled pressed powder means it doesn’t cake anything up. The compact holds a Divine lipstick too! I reviewed the lipsticks here if you wanna check that out.
Benefit goofproof brow pencil: I picked this badboy up at the airport and it’s changed the way I do my brows, forever. Everything is much easier with this pencil, comes with a spoolie end too!
Jeffree Star liquid lipstick (Posh spice): I actually love all the Jeffree liquid lips, but this shade is my favourite. It’s a cool toned nude, really unique shade and I get a lot of use out of this!
MAC Brow pencil (Lingering) Super fine nibbed pencil is great for creating hair like strokes and getting your brows looking sharp. I’ve loved this for ages and swear by it!
Juvias place Nubian two eyeshadow palette: I picked this up in the black Friday sales so it’s still pretty new to me. I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing these shadows are. Rich in pigment, buttery to touch and blends amazing. All the shades in this palette are right up my street too.
MAC Fix+ Spray: How I ever lived without this I don’t know. There’s so many ways to use this spray. I mainly use it to intensify shimmer shadows and spray all over my face once I’m done.
Pixi beauty mattelast liquid lips: I got these in PR a few weeks ago and I haven’t been able to stop using them. The formula is so comfortable to wear, they last all day and I’m obsessed with the shade range. Click HERE for my first impressions on the whole range.
