Hey loveliess, I hope you’re warm and well!
Growing up in Welwyn Garden City, there wasn’t much to do as a youngster. Times are changing and there’s a fantastic new trampoline park opening in the sports centre. An amazing opportunity for kids and adults to have fun, keep fit and do something a little bit different. I was lucky enough to be invited along to their press open day and took my 11 year old brother along with me.
The indoor park has loads of great features, loads of fun for all the family, but before you bounce there’s a short safety briefing video to watch. It outlines park rules and ensures everyone has a fun safe session. You are required to wear special grip socks in the park which allow for better bouncing and you can keep the socks for your return visits. The size of the indoor park is a little smaller than that of other local trampoline parks but I feel there’s a lot more to offer!
40 joining trampolines to jump between and bounce walls along the edge.
Two long trampolines for gymnastic style tricks and flips
Two basketball hoops
Trapeze swing and landing foam pit
High jump into landing foam pit
16 player dodge ball area
Two player gladiator style activity
George loved the trampoline trapeze, swinging from a bar and landing in a super soft foam pit. I did have a go but I got stuck in the pit and looked silly trying to get out (while losing a sock in the process) He also enjoyed dodge ball and the bounce walls. We had a lot of fun testing out the park before the launch date and I’m sure we’ll be returning in the future! The staff at the park seemed enthusiastic and friendly while helping the little ones, joining in games and over seeing everyone is keeping safe while they bounce, which was refreshing to see!
Benefits to trampolining:
Improves balance and co-ordination
Firms and tones muscles
Increases oxygen capacity
Fun fact: 30 minuets of trampolining can burn up to 100 calories (That’s the same as two jaffa cakes)
To my knowledge, the park is set to open to the public around the 4th of December 2017 and there will be sessions for toddlers in the mornings, other children in the afternoon and private party bookings which sounds super fun! I asked the receptionist on pricing and she couldn’t give me a definite answer but told me children’s prices will be around £8.50 and £10.50 for adults, which I think is quite reasonable and in line with other local competitors. The park is located in Gosling sports centre, Welwyn Garden City. There’s an onsite cafe, spa and other sport activities on offer too.
Me and George had a great afternoon bouncing around. Big thank you to Better extreme for allowing us early access, I hope the launch goes well and I’m looking forward to coming back for more fun!
Let me know if you’ve ever been trampolining and if you enjoyed it below
Thanks for being here
