Hey lovelies, I hope you’re all well!
If you’re a regular here then you might have seen that I started IPL laser treatment at home back in June. For as long as I can remember, I’ve suffered with excessive hair growth. It was something I was very aware and self conscious of. I started this journey by publishing the post “Living with excessive hair growth” Posting that was really hard for me but I’m glad I did because it was time to close that chapter and move on.
So, the initial treatments are to be done every two weeks, for 4-6 weeks, I completed my 5th session now so I thought it was time I gave you guys a little update on how I’m getting on. Each area I’m treating is giving completely different results which I found a little strange. My back, tummy and upper lip hairs are practically non existent now which I’m over the moon about. There’s a few small patches that need going over but nothing major, still a massive improvement! My armpit hair has almost gone too, there’s just a little line of hair that sits in a crease I need to focus on.
My legs are taking a little longer but I’m putting this down to the fact I started them 2 weeks after everywhere else and the amount of hair on such a large area takes some time. There has been progress though, the hair growth is MUCH slower and not growing back as thick. It’s clear when the hair has come back that there’s quite a few patches I’ve missed, so I need to be more precise and take my time on that area.
Moving onto my face, the area that bothered me the most. Results have been minimal which I’m pretty gutted about if I’m honest. The hair does grow back a little slower, but still noticeably thick. It’s been really difficult for me not to tweeze any of the hairs that pop through but I’m going to remain hopeful that after a few more sessions I’ll begin to see a difference. Obviously I’ll keep you guys updated, maybe in another 4 sessions or something.
So my laser journey so far has been quite varied, I’m still keeping track of treatments on the Lumea app which is super handy for someone as forgetful as me. I’m satisfied with my results so far, it’s a long process but I know it will be worth it in the end! I’m probably going to start my arms and bikini line soon so if you guys are interested, I’ll update you on them area’s too.
If you have any questions on laser hair removal, pop them down in the comments and I’ll do my best to answer
