Hey lovelies, I hope you’re warm and well!
I was super excited when I got the email from Influenster saying I was going to be receiving the Rimmel Holiday voxbox. Rimmel are a strong, cult drugstore brand. They’ve had super stars such as Kate Moss and Rita Ora as the face of their brand. Now I’ve been lucky enough to get my hands on some new products to try. So what did I get in my Rimmel holiday voxbox?
I wasn’t really sure on what to expect when I opened my voxbox, but I was pleasantly surprised to see a good mix of products. I got three lip art glosses which I was drawn too. Two liquid liners, a mascara, a festive nail polish and some pretty temporary tattoos, along with an information card on all the products. Couldn’t wait to get stuck in, have a play around and get creative. The first thing that caught my eye was the blush gold lip art gloss and I was desperate to give it a go.
Lip art glosses:
Next in my Rimmel Holiday voxobx, I got 3 lip art glosses. A pearly white, iridescent gloss. A peachy nude and a yellow toned gold. All very different and unique shades. Each gloss is packed full with sparkles and they all swatch really nicely. The first I tried was the blush gold shade. I felt this this would look great over a nude lip, as well as look stunning on its own. When I applied the gloss over a lipstick, it appeared quite patchy and moved my lipstick around. I feel this would work better over the top of a matte liquid lipstick. Same thing happened with all the shades but when used on their own, they looked super cute! Formula wise, they aren’t the longest lasting and need to be re-applied throughout the day. I loved that they aren’t thick and gloopy glosses, that was a bonus for me! Out of them all I’d say the blush gold shade was my favourite. I’m not sure how much use I will get out of the gold though.
Ink me liners:
In terms of eyeliners, I got two in my box. Was super happy to get a black one as my current liquid liner was on the verge of empty, and I got a super cool gold liner too which I was excited to try. Ink me liners come with a brush tip applicator which isn’t what I am used to (I prefer the hard nib ones.) So it took a bit of practice to get that fleeky winged liner. I paired the two together for a double liner look and it really liked how it came out!
I tend to use browns, golds and bronzes on my eyes, so these liners really complimented my everyday look and made everything seem a little more glam! The liners are by no means waterproof. I used the black on Christmas day and me and my brother laughed so much, that the liner ran down my face. I quite enjoyed these liners, was something different for me and I think the gold will be great come festival season!
Festive glitter nail polish:
Next up was a nail polish. I had really short ugly nails so I’m not really one for painting my nails much, I much prefer falsies. However, I did give it a go and I loved how festive it was. The polish was packed with glitter and dried really quickly which is impressive (is there anything worse than waiting for your nails to dry) The polish lasted quite a few days with minimal chipping which is always good. I think with a decent top coat, that time could be longer! I’m probably going to give this to my mum because I think she’ll use this more than me. If you’re into having pretty nails I’d recommend picking this up!
Wonderfully real mascara:
I haven’t tried a drugstore mascara in a good few months so I was pleased to see this “Wonderfully real” mascara. Absolutely loved that it had a plastic wand with short bristles. I find this kind of applicator works really well for my lashes and manages to capture them all! Overall, I was really impressed with this mascara. It coated my lashes well and gave me so much length and a little volume at the same time. The colour is super black too which is perfect for my lashes. Formula wise I didn’t find this felt dry and flaky at all and the mascara really held the curl, yay! I know I’m going to use this a lot and I’m pleased I found a decent drugstore mascara that doesn’t cost the earth!
Ink me temporary tattoo’s:
Last up in my Rimmel Holiday voxbox were these super pretty metallic temporary tattoo’s. Genuinely speaking these aren’t really my thing. Although I think during the summer these will be adorable for parties and festivals. I love the patterns and designs of these, they’re giving me like Indian summer vibes which is what I need during these cold winter months.
So that’s everything I got in my Rimmel holiday voxbox. If you’re interested in finding out how you can get your hands on some great goodies for free, sign up with Influenster using my link and start reviewing products now 🙂
