Welcome back, I hope you’re all well and enjoying this beautiful weather !
For the longest time, I’ve had really dry, irritable flaky sensitive skin and it’s a nightmare to deal with for multiple reasons. I’ve been hunting around for some products to try and help my skin and really up my skincare game, I think I’ve finally found a really effective combination of products that work for me. If like me you have nightmare problematic skin then continue reading to find what my skin has been loving recently.
Garnier Micellar cleansing water- £4.99 for 400mls
Every blogger and their dog knows about this micellar water, it’s been plastered all round the bloggersphere for some time now and for very good reason too. This is a really gentle cleansing water and I use it with a cotton pad to remove all my make up. The ingredients in the water act as a magnet to remove make up and impurities. I absolutely love this for every day use and I go through bottles of the stuff.
Llyods pharmacy skin cleansing brush – £39.99
Two or three days a week I use my electrical cleansing brush with some face wash all over my skin to help get a deep cleanse and exfoliate my skin. The brush vibrates on the skin and I use small circular motions all over for around 10 minuets. The brush is really effective for removing dead skin cells from the face and leaving a smooth clean base. I’d be so lost without this little device in my life, if you suffer with dry flaky skin I would recommend picking up an electrical skincare brush. Some of them can be quite pricey but if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative that still does the job then this is for you. I wrote a full review on this brush so if you’d like to know more you can read it here
Garnier clarifying wash – £3.49 for 150mls
Some of you might look at this and think why the hell is she using this for her dry skin!? Yes, this wash is targeted at more combination/oily babes but I’ve found using this every other day on my skin really helps reduce the appearance of my pores. It’s not a claim of the product but I found that’s just how it worked for me and it’s really gentle on sensitive skin unlike some of the pore reducing products I’ve tried before.
Simple soothing facial toner – £3.29 for 200mls.
The photograph shows a mini version of the toner but I’m all out of the 200ml bottle so I need to take a trip to town. I’m a big lover of simple product and growing up they were the only brand on my skin. Since venturing into the blogging world, I’ve tried, tested and found different products that replaced my simple ones, except for this toner. It works really well at tightening my skin and making it feel so fresh. I splash a bit on my fingers and just massage around my face but focus on my t-zone. The simple toner has witch hazel which is an ingredient we all know and love for tightening up those pores and giving a more flawless looking base.
Pure potions intensive facial oil – £19 for 30mls
Pure potions intensive moisturising ointment – £12.99 for 60mls
These two products are quite new to my skincare regime and I don’t know how I’ve been without them for so long. I use the moisturising ointment at night before bed because it’s quite a thick consistency but when I wake the next morning my skin feels pretty incredible. Soft, smooth and hydrated which is everything I’ve been after. The moisturiser is made up of all natural ingredients like olive fruit oil, beeswax and hemp seed oil and all the products from pure potions are 100% natural and chemical free! Yaaay!
The intensive facial oil is something I use once a week (Usually a Sunday) to give my skin a super boost of goodness and hydration. The oil doesn’t feel greasy on my skin and it’s quickly absorbed. The bottle comes with a little dropper which is super handy to get just the right amount. I usually add 3-4 drops onto my fingers and spend a few minuets just massaging it into my skin. Both products are very slightly scented but that hasn’t been an issue for my skin so it’s a bonus!
[M]botanicals rejuvenating facial elixir – £32 for 30mls
The product is an all natural, organic and vegan friendly facial oil that works perfectly for purifying and giving a healthy radiant glow to the skin. Since using this oil every few days under my moisturiser I’ve noticed my complexion seems brighter and healthier. I’ve also found this oil to be really effective at reducing redness on my face that pops up from time to time. I love the packaging of the products from MBotanicals range, it’s almost like a modern twist on the old style products you’d find in an apothecary shop. It’s quite a pricey product but in my opinion it’s 100% worth it.
L’Oreal detox clay mask – £7.99 for 50mls
Last up but not least, I like to use a face mask once a week and I always come back to the detox clay one from L’Oreal. I’ve had this pot for a good few months and I still have loads left! I use a clean foundation brush to the mask over my face, focusing again on my t-zone. The mask dries down pretty quick and when it does, you can clearly see how the mask has got right down in those pores to clean them out. I wrote a full review on this so if you want to find out more you can read it here
