Hey lovelies, I hope you’re all warm and well!
A few weeks ago now, I had my hen party. It was such an amazing night filled with love and laughter. A good old celebration with some of my favourite people, ever! I wanted it to be quite simple, nothing fancy. Just somewhere local and affordable, and that’s what we did. My girls had some amazing idea’s, they spent hours making things, decorating and creating the perfect evening for me. I can’t thank them enough for their tremendous efforts. That’s the inspiration behind this post, I thought I’d share some hen party ideas with you to give you a great send off before the big day.
Play some games
We had a few games at my hen (some of which we ran out of time to play) but it’s a nice idea for everyone to get to know each other if you’ve invited people from different friendship groups. One of my besties hid little hearts around my mums living room, sending me around the room, and finally to her and she announced she was flying out for my wedding (a moment i’ll never forget) Such a lovely surprise. There’s a tonne of different games online you can order, we also had dare cards which was hilarious! Pinterest is also a good place to get inspiration for hen party games!
Give it a theme.
When discussing idea’s with my maid of honour, she brilliantly suggested that we give the night a theme and all dress up. Me being the nostalgic 90’s kid I am, decided there was only one clear choice. DISNEY! Everyone made such a good effort with their outfits and we all looked incredible. Pre-drinks was arranged at my mum’s before we went out, and they’d decorated with cute Disney banners which made everything a little more special. Naturally I went dressed as Belle and my MOH kindly got me a cute little chip bag to take out with me too (although I actually forgot to bring it) Having a theme that means something to you gives your hen a personal touch, and it adds to the fun!
Belle, Alice, Queen of hearts, Snow white, Minnie Mouse and Ariel (don’t we look wrecked!)
Make it personal
This one is more for anyone who is arranging a hen party for someone else. The more personal the night, the better. My mum spent hours creating a big beautiful photoframe to hang from her ceiling so we could get some great pictures. It was such a nice touch because I knew nobody had one like it and it was made just for my night! The girls also secretly got me little token gifts that reminded me of them which was amazing, bought back some fond memories. The presents wouldn’t mean anything to anyone else and that was a lovely touch from them!
Create party bags
Just a way of saying thanks to everyone who came. My mum actually made mine, she included willy whistles, sashes for everyone, bubbles, badges and other goodies which was lovely. You can personalise yours how ever you want of course. The sashes came in handy when we hit the club, everyone could see it was a hen party, not just 12 lunatics dressed up as Disney characters on a night out. Great job mother!
Pre-drinks and cocktails
Going “out out” doesn’t come cheap these days, it’s wise to arrange pre-drinks before you venture out. Getting everyone to chip in a tenner or so means you can get a variety of drinks and create some banging cocktails. My girl Fiona sorted us all out with cocktails and prosecco all night so thanks for angel, you got me absolutely plastered ;D !
Do all the tacky hen do stuff
My only rule was strictly no strippers, anything else that’s hen party cliche I was down for. We had blow up men, giant willies, penis straws, learner plates, the whole lot. I think it added the fun and atmosphere. My aunty had some hen party cupcakes made up too and they made a good snack I did actually get weighed down with all the “bride to be” stuff everyone draped me in but it was a giggle.
Create a photo album
Take a million and one photo’s, get the best ones printed off and make a photo album. You’ll look back on this crazy night in years to come and giggle at the memories. Or, if you’re anything like my hens, you’ll need the photo’s the next morning to piece together the evening. I love looking back at the funny photo’s so get yourself an album and keep those memories!
Don’t stress, and have fun!
So, there we have it ladies, all the hen party ideas you’ll ever need.
Hope you’ve enjoyed this one lovelies.
